The First
Ladies Asian Golf Tour in China with the first China Winner
It was a very exciting day at WuYi because
the final day’s tournament has showed the variable and cruelness
of a professional match.
66 players from the Q-school were ready to fight for the
prize money of USD80,000 today. The uncertain performance
of the players from the first two days made no hint to people
of tipping who will be the winner. When the first tee off
started at 8:00am by Ye Li Ying, a birdie was hit at hole
no. 6 and finished the front nine with 1 under. The best scorer
of the 2nd day, Korea’s Hong Ran was unlucky to get bogey
at hole no. 1, 8 and 9 finished front nine with 2 over, same
as another Korean lady Park Han Nim. At the back nine, Ye
Li Ying got two bogeys at hole no. 10 and 12. However, with
strong experience of international tournament, Ye recovered
very quickly and hit a birdie at no. 16, but unfortunately
to miss the chance of playoff after hitting the ball into
bush at hole no. 18.
Another China player, Zhang Na with score 2 under in the
first two days’ tournament, boomed a tremendous performance
today. After her tee-off started at 9:20am, two birdies were
hit at front nine and 4 birdies at back nine finally finished
at 67 with total score 209(71-71-67) set at first place. Korea
player Moon Hyun Hee performed very stable in the three days
competition and finished 7 under with same score of Zhang.
Both of them had to face the cruel playoff match finally.
When the two ladies were on green after hitting two strokes,
people almost stopped breathing to watch the serious putt.
Zhang’s ball lied at 9 yards from the hole while Moon’s ball
lied at almost 20 yards. The first putt of Moon left a 5 yards
distance while Zhang’s first putt made a better position of
3 yards distance. Finally, Moon missed the ball after making
the second putt and missed the dream of winning. Zhang successfully
putt the ball into the hole under a big hurray from audience
and took the prize money of USD12,000.00 away. And then, the
first Chinese Winner was born in WuYi Fountain Palm Golf Club
at its first Ladies Asian Golf Tour-WuYi Championship, a historic
moment was happened.
